Nordlux Reaps 7 international Design Awards

In recent years the Danish lighting producer Nordlux has been working with great focus on an innovative and seductive design at attractive prices. This strategy has just been rewarded with no less than 7 grand international prices. However, this does not mean that the company, that this year can celebrate its 40s anniversary, rests on its laurels. The design ambitions are sky-high.

Nordlux Reaps 7 international Design Awards

Red Dot Design Award

The Red Dot Design Award is a prestigious award given for outstanding design and quality. Only products, projects and concepts that stand out with their exceptional design are awarded this coveted seal of quality by an international jury.

Three lightings just won an iF Design Award each, while today four designs have been awarded with the desired Red Dot Awards. Behind the price winning lightings, that received these quality marks for their excellent design, there are a number of acclaimed Danish designers. In the year where Nordlux furthermore can celebrate its 40s anniversary, the CEO, Peter Terkelsen, is particularly proud of making a difference within the design industry:

"We have been working with great focus on design in order to differentiate ourselves in a market where there is a huge focus on price. In 2014, we launched a design brand under the Nordlux umbrella, Design For The People. By increasing the focus on innovation, establishment of cooperation with excellent Danish designers and by changing our visual concepts, with Design For The People we have reached a large and very design conscious target group – but still at a price which most people can afford. The fact that we have won 7 international design awards like Red Dot and iF Design Award is a pleasant evidence that can compete at an international level", Peter Terkelsen says.

The large price harvest is in line with both an increased sale and positive feedback, which Nordlux receives from the customers. The Design For The People success and the numerous international prices is a great acknowledgement for the Danish company, and it opens doors to interesting projects all over the world where good Danish design at attractive prices is desired.
