Inspired by nature, the landscape and materials sourced from the local area, German architect Axel Schoenert and Hungarian interior designer Zsofia Varnagy have created a fabulous villa and oasis on Ibiza.
Axel Schoenert and Zsofia Varnagy both specialise in luxury hotels and offices and have a great passion for detail and exclusive materials.
Over the last 8 years, the couple has built the house on Ibiza which showcases the carefully selected materials and unique details. The natural stone facade integrates the house into the landscape, and the organic materials reflect Ibiza’s beautiful scenery. With the decor, Zsofia Varnagy focuses on shapes, colours and contrasts to create a unique atmosphere in the house. The copper Artist pendant fits perfectly into the decor with its slender, elegant design, and the shiny copper surface creates an amazing contrast to the organic materials used in the kitchen. Artist 40 and 25 hang in a cluster in the house over the kitchen island, where the mix between the two sizes provides excellent working light while also creating personality in the home. In contrast, over the dining table the couple has used a line of Artist pendants, revealing how the lamp can be used in different ways in interior design. Artist features an integrated LED module, allowing the light to be dimmed according to the desired mood in the home.
With its timeless and minimalist design, the Artist pendant is a gorgeous take on a classic lamp. The lamp was designed by Danish architect Henrik Bønnelycke, who based the design on the world of music and took inspiration from the cymbals in a drum kit. Since 1988, Bønnelycke MDD has worked with lamps, furniture and interior design, both nationally and internationally, and has designed several award-winning lamps. In 2017, Artist 40 in copper won both the Red Dot Award and the iF Product Design Award, which are presented for outstanding design and quality.
