“Light has to be functional – but also beautiful to look at”

For Anne Hundborg, lights and lamps are a big part of the decor. Follow us around the beautiful home of Anne Hundborg and her family, and become inspired to create a cosy and personal atmosphere with the right lighting.

The family often spends time reading on the sofa, so the fact that the ‘Space B’ floor lamp from Design For The People by Nordlux can be adjusted in brightness and colour temperature is a clever feature.

In the home of Anne Hundborg, Jonas Frandsen and their five children of different marriages, it is full speed ahead, and that makes extra demands of the lighting in the family’s Randers home. “It’s important that we have enough light from ceiling, floor and walls, but it is equally important to me that the lamps are beautiful to look at. I like lamps that are a bit sleek and streamlined, and I like them to stand out too. That’s why I’m crazy about the floor lamp in the living room. It's a statement piece,” Anne explains. In general, lighting is of great importance in the family home. “It's a big part of the décor. We have a lot of lamps in corners rather than just a large lamp in the middle of the room. I feel that it contributes to the sense of cosiness.”

Dimmers create cosiness. The two architect lamps above the kitchen table are among the lamp solutions that work particularly well for the family. “We used to have pendants, but my partner is two metres tall and there were places where he couldn’t stand up straight. Now we can adjust the height – and the lamps create a cool look,” says Anne. In general, she is very aware of the need for both functional and cosy lighting, and her eyes have really been opened to dimmers. “The light from our lamps above the dining table can be adjusted for brightness, but also if for cool or warm light. I hadn’t really given much thought to how important that is to creating atmosphere, but it’s so clever. Especially since we use the dining table for both spending time together and as an office,” she says.

The ‘SpaceB’ pendant and the ‘Nexus’ lamp are both from Design For The People by Nordlux.

Idea:

Pick a pendant above the dining table with a built-in dimmer, allowing you to easily switch between functional and cosy lighting.

The ‘Arki’ architect lamps from Design For The People by Nordlux give the kitchen a cool look and offer a clever feature in that the height can be adjusted, depending on whether the family’s tallest or shortest member is on cooking duty.
